It is reported that HP had upgraded the newly manufactured printers used with W1106A/106 black&white and W2080 series color cartridge.

For details:

1. The printers HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw/178nw newly manufactured in September 2020 have been upgraded in China. iAICON reminds customers in all regions to pay attention to the situation of this series of products.

2. The HP OEM cartridge, W2080A/118A for color printers in China and W1106/106A for black&white printer in Middle East region, that newly manufactured in September 2020 are capable to upgrade the corresponding printers. The same situation may also exist in other regions.

3.Error Codes:
Printer used with W1106 cartridge reports “cartridge problem” in display screen, while the monitor in computer reports “C2-151A”.

Color Printer used with W2080 cartridge reports “X cartridge problem” in display screen, white the monitor in  computer reports “C1-X51A”(X stands for color, 2/3/4/5 means Y/M/C/K).  
In view of the above issues, it is speculated that the same series products may be upgraded soon.

Solutions:
   
 1. You are recommended to notify the end-user that the newly manufactured printers in September has  been upgraded, thus the aftermarket supplies are unable to be used in the involved printers.

2.You are recommended to notify the end-user do not install the new OEM supplies that manufactured in Sep 2020 in old printers, avoiding to trigger firmware update in printers.
